Self/Work: Therapy Games
by Anastasia Clarke

This performance combines music composition, sound/instrument design, dance, speech, and projected imagery to provoke stories about power and agency in matters of health and healing. Its stage design involves long (15’) wires extending from patch points on analog circuit boxes, terminating in eight foot-sized copper touch-points spread around the performance floor. Touch-points invite use of hands, feet, and skin-to-skin contact between performers, yielding direct (amplified audio signals) and indirect (audio used as control signal) sonic results. Aerial-view live camera feed projection and spoken translation of onstage actions both address questions of access to the work across differing sensory abilities.
