Clouds and Horses is a tribute to the late composer Pauline Oliveros. It recasts and transcribes her iconic work Horse Sings From Cloud (1982), as a meditation for electronics, light transmitter and receiver devices, and vocalist. Holding a photo-receiver, a performer gradually approaches a pedestal with a photo transmitter device emitting the signal of oscillators approximating the original harmonies in the Oliveros, causing them to gradually crescendo to an audible level. After singing and circling the pedestal several times, she slowly moves away from the pedestal causing the sounds to grow softer, until no longer audible.
