Using the Sensel Morph pressure sensor, participants will be introduced to the different ways of getting contact data from the Sensel Morph using the API (in Python, C, and C#), Cycling 74’s Max and Max for Live, the Innovator’s Overlay, and MIDI Polyphonic Expression. Guidance will be provided for the different types of data ascribed to each contact, and using the contacts creatively. We will also use the Overlay Designer to create pressure sensitive control areas that can output different types of data: Game Pad, MIDI, MPE, Key code, and Mouse pad. Time allowing, participants will apply their custom control designs to music and sound design over a multi-speaker array.
Attendees are encouraged to bring laptops, dowloaded API for computers or arduino and supporting software for python, C, or C# development. For people who want to work with higher level controller design, the SenselApp from
this download page will be needed.
